FHM held their annual Gala and Silent Auction on Saturday, May 3, 2014 at the Levin Jewish Community in Durham, NC. More than 130 FHM supporters enjoyed an evening of music by E.G. Peters Band and buffet dinner by Durham Catering. The silent auction utilized BidPal, and online bidding program, that allowed supporters to bid both onsite and remotely. More than $25,000 in proceeds will go towards the construction and launch of the Leogane Family Surgical Center. Dr. Harry Beauvais, MD, MPH, FHM partner and prominent Haitian OB/GYN was the guest speaker. Jonathan M. Katz, author of the award-winning book, “The Big Truck That Went By: How the World Came to Save Haiti and Left Behind a Disaster” and his wife Claire Payton were guests of honor.
